Elite Sporting Academy (ESA)

The Beginning – A Dream Reignited

Elite Sporting Academy (ESA) was founded in 2016 by Mr. Lester Peters, a former State and National football player from India. The academy was built with a clear mission: to revive the love for football, instill strong values and character, and inspire young players.

In a region once known for its rich football culture, Lester observed a gradual decline in interest, often replaced by material pursuits. ESA was created to bring football back to its rightful place — at the heart of childhood and community development.

From Player to Coach – A Journey of Transformation

Lester made his debut in the 2nd Top Division at the age of 16, showing strong potential to reach the international stage. Unfortunately, a major injury, combined with a lack of professional guidance, structured career planning, and rehabilitation, ended his playing career prematurely.

This phase brought immense emotional challenges. He stepped away from football and worked on a cruise line in the USA, followed by a role at the U.S. Consulate General in India. These experiences transformed his outlook — shifting his focus from being a player to becoming a coach and mentor.

Determined to give young players the guidance he never received, Lester pursued FA coaching licenses and committed his life to structured player development.

Global Learning – Building a Unique Philosophy

Before establishing ESA in India, Lester gained international coaching exposure by spending time in Dubai and China. He studied modern training methodologies, observed elite academies, and understood global standards of football development.

This exposure helped shape ESA’s unique coaching philosophy and methodology, which continues to evolve with the latest advancements in football training worldwide.

Humble Beginnings – From Two Kids to a Movement

ESA began on a municipal ground with just two enrolled children, with no certainty of ground availability the next day. Lester personally carried cones, balls, and equipment daily, often training amid interruptions from scooters and bikes.

Parents were unsure about choosing football over academics, attendance was inconsistent, and challenges were constant. Yet, belief, persistence, and vision laid the foundation for what ESA would eventually become.

Milestones & Growth – From 2 to 3000+ Players

Within a year, ESA reached its first major milestone of 100 registered players. Over time, academy-trained players began representing their State, and ESA expanded to training 3000+ players.

Today, ESA operates:

Three centers in Kalyan, Maharashtra

Elite Football Arena (9v9) – the first fully self-funded, football-specific ground in the region

One center in Karnataka, India

ESA also manages fully funded senior teams:

Kalyan City Football Club (Men)

Queens United Football Club (Women)

Beyond Football – Creating Social Impact

ESA’s work goes beyond training players. The academy actively educates children and parents on balancing football and academics.

ESA has coached children from:

Rural areas

Municipal schools

Tibetan communities

This outreach has increased football participation, inspired new academies, created employment opportunities, and strengthened the local football ecosystem.

Building the Future – More Than Just Players

ESA is committed to continuous learning and excellence. Through football, we aim to develop:

Players

Coaches & referees

Scouts

Sports scientists & physiotherapists

Psychologists & nutritionists

Event managers, coordinators & operations managers

Fans and sports medicine professionals

Our goal is to build an entire football ecosystem, not just athletes.

Looking Ahead – A Global Vision

ESA’s long-term vision is global expansion — establishing a minimum of three centers on each continent, spreading the love for football and nurturing talent worldwide.
