OUR STORY
The Journey of Elite Sporting Academy
Elite Sporting Academy (ESA) was founded with a clear mission — to revive the love for football, build character through sport, and create meaningful opportunities for young players to grow with purpose, discipline, and confidence.
The Beginning – A Dream Reignited
Founded in 2016 by Mr. Lester Peters, a former State and National football player, ESA was created to bring football back to the heart of childhood and community development. In a region where football culture was fading, ESA was built to inspire young players through structured coaching, discipline, and strong values.
More Than An Academy
ESA is more than just a football academy — it is a movement built on resilience, vision, and purpose. From humble beginnings with just two children on a municipal ground, ESA has grown into a football ecosystem that develops players, mentors families, and creates opportunities beyond the game.
From Setback to Legacy
Every stage of ESA’s journey has been shaped by perseverance, learning, and a relentless commitment to doing things differently for the next generation of footballers.
From Player to Coach
Lester Peters made his debut in the 2nd Top Division at the age of 16 and showed immense promise as a footballer. But a major injury, combined with a lack of professional guidance and rehabilitation, brought his playing career to an early end. That difficult phase became the turning point that inspired him to become the mentor and coach he once needed himself.
Global Learning & Vision
Before establishing ESA, Lester gained international exposure in Dubai and China, where he studied modern coaching methods and observed elite academies. This experience helped shape ESA’s unique football philosophy — one that combines technical development, tactical awareness, discipline, and holistic player growth.
Humble Beginnings
ESA started on a municipal ground with just two children and no certainty of ground availability. Lester personally carried equipment every day and trained amidst constant interruptions. Those early struggles laid the foundation for an academy built on persistence, belief, and an unwavering commitment to the game.
A Growing Football Movement
What started as a small initiative soon became a powerful football movement. Within a year, ESA reached its first milestone of 100 registered players. Over time, academy-trained players began representing their State, and ESA expanded its impact to thousands of aspiring footballers.
